ArcheWild Partners with Green Lane Park and Pennsylvania Master Naturalist Program for Meadow Improvement Project

ArcheWild has partnered with Green Lane Park, in Montgomery County, and the Pennsylvania Master Naturalist Program to improve a native meadow by adding local genotype species from nearby locations in EcoRegion 064a.  The meadow was created by a frequent mowing program that allowed native sedges and grasses to proliferate aggressively.  Patches of invasives are treated and replaced with native meadow species grown from seed collected from within about 15 miles from the site including Helianthus giganteus, Liatris spicata, Bidens coronata, and several others.  The meadow site will continue to act as a repository for other local native species as they become available through ArcheWild’s native plant nursery.
